Goodbye? No! It's a see you soon!

Welcome again teachers!

Today is my last challenge of ICT…

I will do a 3x1 review, which is saying 3 things I really liked and 1 that I didn’t. I will start with the 3 good things.

- I’ve learned new ICT tools for my future class, and for me! I’m very bad at ICT as I said the first day of class, and now…well now I’m not that bad!

- I have great APPS and tools to make activities more interactive for my future students.

- Last but not least…I’ve learned to create MEMES! I love them they are very funny and you can use them for many things.

From my personal point of view, the thing that I would change is moving this subject to the first term. This subject needs time, and on the second term we have too many things to do including the practicum and the TFM, and we can’t enjoy it as much as we could on the first term.

On this challenge I’ve learned to do memes… Have a look at the ones I’ve made.

Me at the beginning:

memegenerator.es Creado con memegenerator.es

Me now:

memegenerator.es Creado con memegenerator.es

I made these memes with memegenerator. You have to try it!

To finish up, I will like to thank my teacher Mª Jesús García and my classmates for having so much patience with me all this term.

This is not a goodbye, it’s a see you soon!!!

Online conference

Hello teachers!!!

Today I bring you something totally new!!

I want to share with you my first online conference. I want you to pay attention; I’m going to go through it with all kinds of details. The conference is called Moodle Mooc10, you will see this name al through my post.

As you know and I think you have seen at my blog, I have been creating in this month’s an open educational digital project and to improve different skills with new ICT tools and APPS that I did know. In the conference, I talk about my experience in opening an educational digital project and the things I’ve been doing through my project.

Things we needed for the online conference:

- A slide with our information for the presentation on Google Drive. Our teacher Mª Jesús García prepared for us to be easier.
- A pair of headphones with microphone.
- To be connected to WizIQ.
- A quiet background during the online conference.

I leave you here my presentation slide so you can have a look.

Rehearsal for the online conference:

One week before the online conference, on Thursday the 4th of May (May the 4th be with you…) Sorry today is the Nerd's pride day and I had to say it…
As I was saying, one week before the online conference, we had a rehearsal. We had the chance to practice and also to make our presentations, but only if we wanted to. I didn’t want to. I’m more in favor of the “WOW factor”.

Our online conference:

For joining the conference, first of all, we had to connect to WizIQ, once we were there our teacher Mª Jesús García explained everything and she was the one who named each of us to present. The order of the presentations was the same order has we had at the rehearsal. Each presentation lasted around 5 minutes. I leave you here the video of our live conference. Nellie Deutsch commented the presentations and was very kind. I’m in 2:01:30.

The online conference

Also, I want to share with you the transcription of what I said at my presentation, I used once again Issuu.

My experience:

Well, I have to admit that I wasn’t nervous at all. Normally I don’t get nervous at presentations and I actually enjoyed my presentation getting to explain everything that I was doing on my blog and the things that I still wanted to do.
One of the things that did worry me was that some of my classmates had problems with their computers and didn’t get to do their presentation. But finally, I did do my presentation.
To sum all up, I want to say that I really like the idea of the online conference and that it was a good idea to rehearsal or one week before to solve any problem that we could have with our computer, or headphones or whatever.

Reflection:

This is my penultimate post… I’m very sad about it. It is incredible that I can be sad about this. I’ve always been very afraid of the ICT tools, because I wasn’t able to manage them, but now that I’m getting used to them… This is getting to and end?
What I’m sure about is that all this that I have learned; I’m going to use it in my future class, hopefully, NEXT YEAR!

Me, as a pre-primary teacher, I think that we have to get children use to ICT tool since they are very small. In pre- primary students are like sponges. And we have to take advantage of that.

We have to modernize to give our students what they deserve.
